That's right! Marty's Music Store is having their 6th Annual Lead Riff Competition. Every year for the last six years Marty's has hosted a guitar competition for anybody who chooses to enter! Every year we get seasoned veterans, intermediate, as well as beginners taking the stage to show off their licks, riffs, and leg kicks! We find that the obvious reason for our customers to sign up is to win that great grand prize, however in every competition we have had people sign up with a goal of just overcoming that fear of playing in front of a large crowd! Regardless the spectators have been awesome! The participants have been supportive yet competitive, and I have even seen a few of them sharing some tips and tricks.
The Lead Riff Competition has received such great response over the last six years. We feel it is a great way to see what other musicians are doing, and giving everyone the opportunity to meet other players. We have seen some contestants perform every year, and its great to see how they progress over time. We feel the best part about why the lead riff has been such a hit is the winner has to return the following year and judge the competition.
