Paul Zerman has been teaching guitar and bass locally for over seventeen years. Over his teaching career, he has taught students of all levels-- from beginning to advanced. With his extensive experience with different genres, Zerman is able to teach his students rock, jazz, traditional, and classical. He incorporates music theory into his lessons, so students have a musical understanding of what they are playing when they learn songs. He encourages students to learn music notation, but also uses tabulature to help the student to reach their musical goals.
Zerman has been active in local "original" bands, and has had songs played on various radio stations around the country, and even internationally. His band Dredded has a single on an upcoming documentary on the radio program "The Preston and Steve Show" (on WMMR). He is currently the Music Supervisor for the independent film company "Cinema Alliance," located in Philadelphia.
For the last two years, Paul has created a unique recital program for his students-- the guitar orchestra known as Akoustikos. The student-based group performs an array of songs at local retirement centers and hospitals. Recently, Akoustikos performed as a featured act during "Celebration of Children," an event that Pecan Inc holds annually at the Harrisburg Forum.
